THE SHOW WAS AWFUL - We walked out after intermiss

    greg s - December 31, 2007 4:06 PM PST

The show sucked. Trust me. We go to a lot of shows and walked out at intermission. Don’t bother, bad acting, singing and just plain boring. Danny was awful. Sandy had a good voice and actually was the only bright spot. The rest of the cast was completely miscast. For starters, the Pink Ladies were in their mid to late 30’s. The one T-bird pushed 300 pounds and was as believable as John Goodman playing that role.

They tried to reinvent the wheel. People go to the show expecting to hear the music exactly how it was in the movie. But no. The producers rearranged most of the music where it just wasn’t the same. The arrogance and stupidity to think that people would want it different from the movie. DON’T BOTHER

    For NYers

I am sorry to report that the limp new production "Grease" is not governed by the rules of audience control that applied to “Grease: You’re the One That I Want,” the reality TV show through which this revival cast its stars. With “Grease” this means that if you last until intermission, you sit through more than an hour of a musical set in a high school that feels like a musical put on by a high school — and I don’t mean a high school of performing arts. Let me hasten to add that no one in the young cast of this revival, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, is flat-out terrible, including Max Crumm and Laura Osnes, the 21-year-olds elected by television audiences to play Danny and Sandy, the romantic leads. Ms. Marshall has obviously drilled her cast thoroughly. But there’s the numbing sense of performers of undeveloped talent conscientiously doing what they have been told to do and failing to claim their parts as their own. — Ben Brantley

I went to the show this past Saturday 10-14-2007, it was great fun and it was obvious the cast was having a great time doing the show, there was just so much talent, if you are having a bad day go see this show, you have no choice but to come out smiling

We loved it! It was fun and lighthearted and Maxx and Laura did not dissappoint us. Our favorite part of our trip to New York.
    Thank you!

    Thank you Max and Laura

Awesome play, loved the changes made to marry the Grease movie with the Grease play. The entire cast was really great. Everyone came out after the show and took pictures and signed autographs for the kids. Max and Laura made the play. Watching them on tv and then seeing them in person was a dream come true for my children. Thank you for doing such an awesome job.
