Tis the season! It is here folks. The holidays! Parties. Presents. Decorations. You can not avoid it - not even at Two On The Aisle! I have been having a jolly holiday season thus far ("thus far" am I British?). Especially this weekend. Saturday night I attended a wonderful holiday party that I go to every year that is uber uber fun (yes, that was 2 ubers). The party is a big secret; truly, I am not allowed to talk about it. But, between you and me - it is a) fun fun fun and b) attended by oodles of industry insiders (B'way vets, TONY winners, casting directors...wow). It was an especially fun night this year because along with the festive holiday food treats I was ab...

I am sick. Not the "I am tired from the weekend and I don't want to get out of bed" sick. More like the "I can't get out of bed and I keep running to the bathroom every ten seconds" sick. Was that too much information...

Last night, every actor in town wanted the same gig; to be a cater-waiter at Caroline's. I think that performers must have been fighting tooth and nail for the right to serve "pigs in a blanket" to the guests at this very important party. You see, Monday night Caroline's played host to the annual Casting Society of America Artios Awards. Every year the CSA (Casting Society of America) honors the best work in casting of movies, television and theater. There were hundreds of industry professionals in attendance. An actor with a flair for serving a chicken finger last night, might find themselves with an audition for a commercial for chicken fingers today!Seriously, I think the import...

This season has become a virtual boxing match with three stunning big name actresses battling it out to be the Heavy Weight Champion of "The Broadway". Jennifer Garner (Alias and 13 Going on 30), Claire Danes (My So Called Life and Evening) and Rosie Perez (Do The Right Thing and Fearless) all take major roles in Broadway shows and we need to see who is going to emerge victorious! In the first corner we have "Dancing Danes" in the yellow trunks making her B'way debut in Pygmalion. In the other corner we have "Gritty Garner" battling it out in Cyrano de Bergerac in the purple trunks. In the last corner (I know, I know - there are only supposed to be 2 corners) we have Rosie Perez throwin...

"I don't like Mondays. Tell me why. I don't like Mondays. Tell me why." Does anyone remember that song by Boomtown Rats, written by Bob Geldof? It aptly describes how I am feeling this morning. The temperature has dipped and this a.m. I just wanted to stay in bed under the covers and wait it out until Friday rolled around again. Alas, there are blogs to be written, shows to be seen, gossip to be heard and while it might be tough to get going today, it is nice to reflect back on an excellent weekend and dish with you all just a bit. So without further adieu, here is today's Dark Day Dish...Horrifying Friday NightThis time of year the film studios begin releasing all their Oscar ...

This is how it works here at TOTA (Two On The Aisle). Everywhere I go - YOU go! Tonight I got to sample my first Broadway Red Carpet and it was a ton of fun. The only thing missing was you, so let me bring you up to date with all the details. The occasion was the opening of the Bway play Pygmalion, starring none other than hot young super celeb Claire Danes (I love Claire Danes from the old days when she shot to stardom on the television show My So Called Life!). This wasn't any ordinary opening night; this was Ms. Danes' Broadway debut. I wonder if she had butterflies. Speaking of butterflies - the show's logo has a butterfly in it because the play is about the transformation of...

There are several bits of news that have come out in the past few days and I want to bring that info to you. It is Wednesday and I would like to play a game and see if I can give you all the pertinent info in 20 words or less for each news item. Isn't this fun? Maybe it isn't, but please - indulge me!Lockout?Last night Bway producers delivered a final offer. Stagehands Union rejected. It was announced yesterday that Mary Louise Parker (Weeds, Proof) has been cast in the new Sarah Ruhl play directed by Anne Bogart at Playwrights Horizons called Dead Man's Cellphone. Previously announced was Claire Danes' Broadway debut in Pygmalion at the Roundabout Theatre Company. Mary Louise Parker was in a long term relationship with Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Big Fish, TONY for Coast of Utopia)) until he left her for Claire Danes when Ms. Parker was 7 months pregnant with Mr. Crudup's child. Yikes! If Pygmalion were to extend and the two show's schedules overlapped, they would be performing 1 ½ blocks away from each other. Let's just say there could be some extra "post show d...

Ahhhhhhh. It is that time of year, again. School is back in session, the temperature is dipping, the local swimming pools are closing and Broadway is waking up from its summer slumber. It is September and Broadway is about to light up with...
