Today's Most Important Questions

Today we need to take a look at two VERY important questions that are buzzing around the World Wide Web.

1.  Is Clay Aiken going to be a BabyMama?

2.  Is Britney coming to "The Broadway"?

I know that we are in the midst of a very important election, the country is involved in two wars, the economy is in a potential recession and gas prices are through the roof.  BUT, I think these two questions are really the VERY MOST IMPORTANT things to talk about today.  Don't you agree? Let's take a look at each of these questions.

Question #1.

The internet was on fire yesterday (and still today) with the news that Clay Aiken (star of the B'way show Spam-a-lot, pop star and former American Idol contestant) is going to be a FATHER!  Yes.  You read that correctly.  Clay is going to be a daddy!  If you listen closely you can hear him humming the Fantasia hit single "Baby Mama".  You remember that song? "B. A. B. Y. M. A. M. A. - this goes out to all my babymamas!"

Word is that Jaymes Foster-Levy (Clay's producer and roommate) has been artificially inseminated with Clay Aiken's sperm and is pregnant with Clay Aiken's baby.  Is this true?

Record producer David Foster (and Jaymes' brother) said in a statement to The Insider: "[Jaymes] looks great, glowing, and very happy. She and Clay have been good friends for a long time."

I have nothing to add here.  I do not want to incur the wrath of the Clay-Mates - so I want it to be noted that I have NO comments.  I am simply reporting the news.  I will let you all ask the (very obvious) questions and draw the (pretty clear) assumptions.  Feel free to discuss in the comments (and when I say "feel free" - I mean, please please please discuss).

Question #2.

An article on a British website has been picked up and is making the rounds; apparently Britney Spears has her eye on "The Broadway".  MetroUK posted an item yesterday that indicated the producers of the hit B'way revival of Grease are eyeing Britney Spears for the roll of Sandy in the NY production - and that Brit is interested.

Now, really, is this possible?  Is this some sort of publicity stunt?  I realize that Brit has the chops (or used to) for a B'way show.  She actually got her start on the stage.  There was a time when she would have been perfect for the role.  But nowadays I wonder if she could pull it together to do 8 shows a week.  The rialto is a rigorous place and I don't think she has the stamina.  A few years ago Britney was in negotiations with Fran and Barry Weissler to replace in their B'way revival of Sweet Charity.  She saw the show and was in talks, but the bottom fell out of the deal when, then husband, Kevin Federline wanted to "focus on his music career in L.A."  I tell you all that to say - a B'way show is something that Brit has considered in the past and may be considering for the future.

Her career really would benefit from this sort of thing.  If she could pull off a successful stint in Grease, she would prove to people that she has talent AND (more importantly) the dedication and determination to really pull her life together.  I just don't think it is going to happen.  Remember when Liza Minnelli went into Victor,Victoria several years ago and she missed every other performance!?  That didn't work out and I am not sure that Brit would do any better.

I think it would be really nice if Brit came to the B'way then her children and Clay's new baby could have play dates together during show times.  Wouldn't that be nice!  See how I did that.  How I brought everything together - not bad, right?

Ok, I will keep you all posted if I find out anything more about either of these VERY important issues.  Have a great weekend and I will...

  • I am not going to even go there with the "rumors" true or not. People's lives are their own. Ones man's gift another man's..........who knows. But I will say this, that Clay Aiken was brilliant on Broadway! If talent is all we are discussing then well done Clay. What he chooses to do to "help" a friend is no concern of mine!
