Today we need to take a look at two VERY important questions that are buzzing around the World Wide Web. 1. Is Clay Aiken going to be a BabyMama? 2. Is Britney coming to "The Broadway"? I know that we are in the midst of a very important election, the country is involved in two wars, the economy is in a potential recession and gas prices are through the roof. BUT, I think these two questions are really the VERY MOST IMPORTANT things to talk about today. Don't you agree? Let's take a look at each of these questions. Question #1.The internet was on fire yesterday (and still today) with the news that Clay Aiken (star of the B'way show Spam-a-lot, pop star and former American Idol...

If you happen to be walking down the street today and see a bus full of screaming blonde look-a-likes dressed in pink; don't fear. This is not a hostile takeover from some bizarre alien culture from a pink planet. It is a promotional stunt for Legally Blonde and the new Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods reality television show that begins on MTV this coming Monday June 2nd at 10:00pm.MTV & Legally Blonde are painting NYC pink with a special tour including 50 "Elle Woods" look-a-likes taking over the city on a appropriately pink double decker tour bus. The gang at Legally Blonde wants you to get involved too; they are encouraging folks to wear all pink or some sort of Legally Blon...

Today's story is a bit different. It is not about the Tonys or the glitz and gossip of "the Broadway". Today's story is about a group of young kids who want to put on a play. As I was pursuing the theater chat room All That Cha...

I want to spend some time over the next few weeks taking a closer look at some of the Tony races and the individuals that are competing for those coveted silver gongs. Now, these types of Tony articles are usually called "Road to the [insert na...

I got a bit of an early start on my Memorial Day Weekend last Friday and took the day off from posting (sorry for the lack of advance notice for those of you who read regularly). Since I missed last Friday I thought I would take some time this morning to say "hello" and "Happy Memorial Day" and then head out for some grilling and relaxing. I hope you are all enjoying a little R...

Let's go "off topic", shall we. I know American Idol isn't exactly Broadway, but we have certainly proved that many of the contestants find their way to the rialto via AI (Tamara Gray, Fantasia and now Taylor Hicks) and they sing and dance (that is VERY close to theater). Ok, now that I have cleared the path to talk about this - what do we think? [Spoiler Alert - don't read any further if you don't know who has won AI yet and if you live under a rock]. I am so excited. I really wanted Cook to win, but after the show on Tuesday I felt he had underperformed and that Archie was going to take it. For the record I am not an Archie fan. So, needless to say I was pleasantly surpri...

You need to make sure you are protected! You don't want to be left out in the summer sun without your SPF. No - I am serious - you need your SPF. SPF is important; if you don't have it you might have a boring old summer sittin' around do...

Does any of this sound familiar? Young (relatively unknown) actress marries box office heartthrob and Scientology loony. Her marriage and personal life are spread across the tabloid covers. A family follows quickly for the young starlet. She slowly builds a film career with several well selected roles (indie leads and supporting parts with Hollywood big wigs). Then, to lend her credibility and legitimate actress "street cred", she nabs a role in a high profile Broadway play.Oh, you probably thought I was talking about Nicole Kidman. Nope, I was referring to Ms. Katie Holmes-Cruise. Holmes is copying another page out of Ms. Nicole Kidman-Cruise-Urban's playbook and will so...

Tony season is definitely here and I have a bevy of Broadway/Tony related news to pass on to you. Some of it funny, some of it sad, and some of down right infuriating. Check out what is going on... Cubby Will Get You a Tony AwardHave you heard about Cubby Bernstein, yet? You MUST click HERE to check it out. It appears that the folks at Xanadu (although they are currently denying it) have come up with a HYSTERICAL way to campaign for the Best Musical Tony. Douglas Carter Beane (the book writer for Xanadu) has gathered a group of his famous friends (Julie White, John Collum, Duncan Sheik) and made a few YouTube videos staring a 13 year old boy who claims to be Cubby Bernstein - a To...

As American Idol prepares to crown a cool new pop star; a past Idol winner flies into a hot Broadway show. Producers of the Tony nominated rialto revival Grease have just announced that reality star and idol winner Taylor Hicks will bring his smooth tones and silver hair to the role of Teen Angel as of June 6th. He goes from "Idol" to "Angel" (that line is from the press release, it's not mine). Taylor Hicks wowed audiences during season five of American Idol. In 2006 he beat out Katherine McPhee (remember her - I caught "McPheever") by capturing the majority of 63.4 million votes (that is a ton of dialing and texting). I liked Taylor Hicks but I was not into the whole "Soul Patrol...
