Tony Hangover

AlkaSeltzerFizz

I need an Alka Seltzer or something.  My head is still pounding and my stomach hurts.  There was so much glamour, so many stars, a ton of excitement - I really over indulged in the Tony smorgasbord!  I feel like I am still slowly recovering.

I wanted to let everyone know about a little "programming change" here at Two on the Aisle.  With the Tony Awards comes the end of the Broadway Season and the beginning of a tiny "Summer Hiatus" for me.  I will still be blogging about all the new shows, summer theater treats and inside gossip, but only 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) - beginning today.

I will be back tomorrow with more of a Tony wrap up and any news and/or rumors spreading through "The Broadway".

Until tomorrow - feel free to leave me some comments about the Tony show.  Did you love it?  Hate it?  Were you disappointed your favorite show didn't win?  Ecstatic that the show you adore took home all the big prizes?  I must know what you thought.

I will see you back here on Wednesday and until then, I will...

  • Fact or rumor? Sondheim has boycotted the Tonys for 24 years.

  • Saw that this was lowest rated Tony show ever...how sad! It was just exciting TV for three hours in a month where exciting TV is a new ep of American Gladiators! I can't get to the Broadway like so many, why wouldn't more watch and be entertained! BTW, In The Heights just amazed me.

  • I heard that he (sondheim) just doesn't like awards shows - not an official boycott - just not into them...

  • I have to admit I'm a bit confused. Today you invited readers to "feel free to leave me some comments about the Tony show". Yet, when I submitted some comments about the show and your live blogging (mostly all favorable) they did not appear. On the other hand, we've recently begun seeing posts promoting a singles website. Not to be a prude but I don't think those posts are appropriate for this site & I'm curious why they are getting approved for posting.

  • I don't think the musical numbers were as good this year as last. Also, it seems that Patti was given much more time on stage for her number than the rest of the nominees.
